Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

Drystone boundary wall, approximately 1m high, made of irregular limestone blocks. The wall takes a 90 degree turn from being a field boundary, near The Royal Oak Parsley Hay, to become a trackside wall at the site of Hurdlow Station. The wall forms a low boundary wall at the embankment (SMR 29075). The wall breaks for two level-crossings, then goes over the top of a cutting - SMR 29082. The wall ends where the High Peak Trail finishes and another boundary wall cuts across the line of the old railway. (1). NGR: SK 12717 65995 - SK 11064 67309
