Full Description

Large solid rectangular structure, 13m x 3.5m and 2.5m high. Constructed of dressed, but irregularly shaped, gritstone blocks. The top of the structure is grassed over, but some wooden sleeper blocks can still be seen. The function of the structure is unknown, but could be a loading dock or the footing of a water tower? The area was also the site of Ladmanlow Colliery Junction. (1).
