- RAILWAY EMBANKMENT (Post Medieval - 1540 AD to 1900 AD)
Protected Status/Designation
- None recorded
Full Description
Curved embankment with sloping sides, probably constructed from a long mound of irregular limestone blocks, but this is unclear as the mound is grassed over and half of it is inaccessible.
The embankment is approximately 20m wide and 6m high, and forms part of the original Cromford & High Peak Railway trackbed. (1).
