Monument record MDR9252 - Embankment, Harpur Hill (original trackbed); Cromford & High Peak Railway

Type and Period (1)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

Curved embankment with sloping sides, probably constructed from a long mound of irregular limestone blocks, but this is unclear as the mound is grassed over and half of it is inaccessible. The embankment is approximately 20m wide and 6m high, and forms part of the original Cromford & High Peak Railway trackbed. (1). NGR: SK 05197 69660 - SK 05314 69660
