Full Description
Stone and brick bridge contained within an embankment, (SMR 30644). The bridge is 2.5m wide and approximately 3m high. The tunnel is approximately 1.5m wide and 23m long. The outer part of the bridge is constructed of roughly dressed limestone blocks. The interior of the bridge, (both the walls and the arch), is constructed in three sections. The southern section is dressed limestone blocks forming a small, tight arch; the middle section is brick walls and regularly dressed limestone blocks; the northern section is blue brick, for both the walls and the arch. Each section is built at a slightly different height to accommodate the north to south slope of the ground.
