Full Description

Terminus of the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast railway - 1889 building on a grand scale, with two storeys, with a third of dormer windows and slate roof. Brick with stone dressings. Parts of a platform and a train shed have survived (1970). A clock surmounts the centre at the front. (1) Now demolished.
