Full Description
The building is shown as a 'Dissenters Chapel' on the 1st edition OS map and 'Mortuary Chapel (Nonconformist)' on the 2nd edition OS map. (1-2)
A cemetery of one acre was laid out in 1872, and has since been enlarged to 1 1/2 acres. There is a mortuary chapel within the cemetery, which was presented by Mrs Wass and later enlarged at the cost of Robert Wildgoose esq. of Matlock. It will now seat 60 or 70 persons [1912]. (3)
The chapel is labelled as such on modern OS mapping, indicating that it is still in use as a place of worship [2011]. (4)
