Full Description

A stone built retaining wall extending from and supporting the east side of the canal wharf, raising the canal towpath and wharf level above that of the floodplain of Cromford Meadows. Built with the construction of the canal. Approximate height of 1.4m. Extends 700m from the wharf to where the railway line meets the canal. (1)
