Full Description

Milestone at the south end of Longway Bank Rd (B5035), near the A6 at Whatstandwell Bridge. The photograph shows the milestone to be inscribed 'TO / ALFRETON / 6 / MILES' on one side and 'TO / ASHBOURNE / 13 / MILES / WIRKSWORTH / 3 / MILES' on the other. (1) The milestone stands on the former Oakerthorpe to Ashbourne turnpike road. (2)
