Full Description

Parish pump, possibly early 19th century, inset into the stone wall outside the Parish Hall, Hazelwood Road, Duffield. Cast iron pump mechanism operating into a lead bucket, with a wrought iron handle and discharging via a cast iron spout into a stone trough. The pump has an oak back-board and elm casing and was restored in European Architectural Heritage Year 1975 by the Duffield Community Association. It has been maintained by them since that time. The pump is one of only two remaining in the village [in 1984]. (1)
