Full Description

Site of Derwent House and gardens. The house is not shown on the Tithe Map of 1844 but had been built by the end of the 1870s, as it is shown on a late 19th century OS map, set in what appear to be landscaped gardens and with an entrance lodge on the road. (1, 2) Derwent House is also shown on an OS map at the end of the 19th century and an early 20th century OS map, but the housing estate that currently occupies the site is shown on a mid 20th century OS map.
