Title A Report On Archaeological Fieldwork Undertaken At Elvaston On the Route of the Proposed A6 Alvaston Bypass, Derbyshire (NGR SK 402 323)
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2002

Abstract/Summary

Excavation at Elvaston at the southern end of the route. Trenching partially revealed a small ditched enclosure and causewayed entrance along with associated features of Iron Age date. The northern area failed to produce the possible square barrow observed as a cropmark. Rectification of aerial photographs has established that the monument lies close by, to the north-east.
