Source/Archive record SDR19032 - Hicken's Bridge, Shardlow, Derbyshire, Gradiometer Survey

Title Hicken's Bridge, Shardlow, Derbyshire, Gradiometer Survey
Author/Originator
Date/Year 1996

Abstract/Summary

A geophysical evaluation in advance of a borrow pit for the Derby Southern Bypass. Magnetometer survey provided evidence for a number of palaeochannels together with hollows or possible pit forms. A few linear features were recorded, at least one of which appears to be of anthropgenic origin. An area of magnetic patterning located at the western end of the survey area suggests some archaeological potential, which may be masked by alluvial cover.
