Source/Archive record SDR21235 - An Archaeological Evaluation at the Corner of Brook Street and Bridge Street, Derby, 2005

Title An Archaeological Evaluation at the Corner of Brook Street and Bridge Street, Derby, 2005
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2011

Abstract/Summary

Results suggested that the Markeaton Brook had passed through the area prior to canalisation, and that ground levels in the area had been raised, probably during the first half of the 19th century. Evidence for early 19th century terraced housing was encountered, but no earlier remains.
