Description

This record has been generated from an "old county number" (OCN) scheduling record. These are monuments that were not reviewed under the Monuments Protection Programme and are some of our oldest designation records. As such they do not yet have the full descriptions of their modernised counterparts available. The agger can be seen ascending the hill through what is at present (V1.62) a hayfield. To the N and S of this stretch the road line is ploughed out. < 1> Fine agger 14m broad by 0.75m high under grass parallel to the present holloway known as Ticknall Lane. S of this scheduled area is a fine terrace cut into the hillside. That is 50m N of Bottlebrook Houses cum Cumbersome, Kilburn. These stretches of road are the finest remaining pieces of R/Rd in Derbys.<2> SOURCES = Desc text/AM7/DC/1962//<1>; Desc text/AM107/Hart CR/1984//< 2 >
