'RED LANE 1. 5167 Makeney Turn Pike Cottage SK 3544 6/216 II 2. Former toll house on Derby to Chesterfield Turnpike of 1776. Coursed stone with stone slate roof. Single storey house on road front. Three windows, including one blank, iron casements. Off centre gabled porch. (Modern extension to east side of no interest). (Burdett, Map of Derbyshire 1791). Listing NGR: SK3587244623.'
