SK 34 SW PARISH OF KEDLESTON KEDLESTON PARK 3/49 13.2.67 Lion statue (formerly listed as Monument to Michael Drayton) GV II*
Statue on pedestal. c1760-70, the pedestal designed by Samuel Wyatt, the statue of a lion by Joseph Wilton. Ashlar. Pedestal has a moulded plinth, sunk panels with circular garlands on the long sides, and a dentil cornice. Standing Medicean lion with a forepaw raised and placed on a ball.
