Description

Farmhouse. Mid C17 with C18 addition and various C20 alterations. Red brick with diaper work to south gable wall and south section of west facade. Sandstone foundations, dressings and quoins, . Coursed sandstone rubble to northern extension. Plain tile roofs. Moulded stone copings and kneelers to gables with ridge ball finials. Large central ridge stack with rendered panels to all sides. Brick side wall stack to extension. Three bays plus single bay extension. Two storeys, plus attics, West facade - to south, basement with chamfered doorcase, C20 door, and 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window, both have moulded hoods. Above, steps up to central two storey gabled porch with boldly rusticated semi-circular headed blocked doorcase. Dropped keystone with lozenge motif. To south, recessed and chamfered window with moulded hood. C20 casements. To north, 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window, with C20 door and window beyond in extension. Above in porch, single light recessed and chamfered window. To south, similar 3-light window with hood. To north, smaller 3-light C20 casement. 2-light flush mullion window beyond to north. To rear, three storey stair turret with all original recessed and chamfered mullion windows. South gable wall has two 3-light and one 2-light C17 mullioned windows. Interior:- heavily moulded crossed beams with central plasterwork boss in south first floor bedroom. Original staircase replaced in C19. Listing NGR: SK4086857088
