Description

Barn. C17, with C19 alterations and additions. Coursed rubble coal measures sandstone with quoins, stone slates, asbestos tile and pantile roof coverings. Single storey with overlofts, eight bays, with full height opening to south-west elevation, a single opening to the north-west end and numerous blocked triangular vents. Although the interior is considerably altered, there is evidence of it having been cruck framed. One cruck truss survives within the third bay at the north-west end, supporting a single purlin roof. The truss retains curved windbraces. The remaining seven bays have substantial tie beam trusses with struts, supporting double purlins. Westhorpe Farmhouse is not included in this nor any other list.
