Description
House. Mid C18 with C19 alterations. Ashlar and coursed squared gritstone with ashlar dressings, advanced chamfered quoins, eaves cornice, coped gables with moulded kneelers, gable stone stacks, and a Welsh slated roof. L-plan house, 3 storeys and 4 bays, with 2-storeyed 2-bay range to rear. West elevation of 3 storeys and 4 bays, with altered ground-floor windows flanking the central doorway. C20 glazed door with C19 rectangular overlight within moulded surround with cornice above, and a broad band course linking the heads of doorway and windows. Flanking windows with flush surrounds and C20 timber 2-light casements with transom lights above. First and second floor windows are stacked 2-light flush mullioned windows, save for the third bay from the north end which has single-light openings. The heads to the openings to both floors are also linked by broad bands. All openings to first and second floors are 2-light casements with C19 glazing. Attached boundary wall, of coursed ashlar blocks, surmounted by pointed and spear-headed metal railings. Gatepiers and corner piers are square on plan, each with a moulded cornice and a domed/hemispherical cap.
