Description
Dovecote. Early C17. Coursed coal measures sandstone with ashlar dressings, quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, stone slated roof Single bay structure of three storeys with attic level used as dovecote. West elevation built into a bank, with stacked openings to centre of gable, comprising two doorways, both with quoined surrounds, and an overloft entry, within a stone frame, now with timber shutter set back from front face with entries for nesting boxes with pitches. First floor doorway with plain plank door, flanked by single light openings with moulded surrounds and dripmoulds. North elevation with first floor doorway, blocked oeil-de-boeuf window and above, a single light opening with moulded surround.
