Description
Former wire drawing mill and detached chimney, now workshops. Early C19. Coursed squared rubble gritstone, with wide stone stack to south gable and hipped stone slated roofs. 'L' plan with short projecting wing to east side. West elevation; three storeys, seven bays with sash windows in plain stone frames. Projecting wing to east side has semi-circular headed opening to first floor. Tapering square stone chimney to the east of the projecting wing. The proprietors of the wire mill were the Cocker family, who were also concerned with the early develop- ment of the crucible steel making in Sheffield, the steel being used for wire drawing.
