Description

Two stone drinking troughs. Early C19. One trough is circular, with an overflow the other is rectangular, with a stone canopy which has a pitched roof of massive gritstone slabs, and a gabled front, with two pointed arched openings giving access to the trough. The canopy has stone sides and the trough is enclosed by a wall of vertical stone flags. The perimeter of the trough area is delineated by a series of massive millstones which are set into the pavement on edge to half their depth. Listing NGR: SK2510574730
