Description
The asset was previously listed twice also under the parish of Curbar at List entry 1088220. That entry was removed from the List on 07/08/15
Road bridge. c1800. Triple arched bridge of ashlar gritstone, symmetrical elevations with segmental arches separated by rounded cutwaters with domed heads. Moulded hoodmoulds over the arches. Moulded stringcourse at the base of the parapets, stepped out around the pilaster buttresses which rise from the cutwaters. Plain cambered parapet with oversailing copings with chamfered edges. Curving abutment walls terminate in square piers with plain square caps. The previous bridge was swept away in a flood in August 1799.
