Description

'BUXTON SK0573SE THE CRESCENT 616-1/4/44 (South side) War Memorial on The Slopes GV II War Memorial. c1920. Ashlar with bronze ornaments. Two step square base with curved front, supports rectangular base with plinth and projecting curved front bearing bronze inscription, PRO PATRIA, 1914+1918, 1939+1945. Above tall obelisk with laurel band and pyramidal cap, bears bronze panels on three sides, and at the front a bronze figure of a winged angel holding a sword brandishing a laurel wreath. Listing NGR: SK0585173472.'
