SHINE: Medieval homestead moat north of Idridgehay (DDR7772)

Description

The remains of a homestead moat. Utilizing a deep stream on the north, the west and south arms remain. Local informants stated that the island was ploughed between 1939-45 but no building remains were seen. Reviewed (2026) faint earthworks still visible on both LiDAR and aerial photography.
