'This is a double pile brick mansion of seven bays with a farmyard to the east. All the farm buildings except a stable contiguous to the house have been demolished and replaced in the recent past. The rear eastern part of the house which is one room thick is probably the service wing to an earlier, possibly timber-framed, farmhouse. The main block is early 19th century, and there have been additions and alterations in the 20th century.' (1)
