Full Description

SK 0983 8099: ?Barrow identified by John Barnatt during field survey. No further information at present. (1). 0.2 metres high circular bank measuring twelve metres by ten metres, which is denuded to the west and has a 0.2 metre mound within the centre. The mound measures five metres by four metres. The feature is located 24 metres west of Gautries Hill barrow on the hilltop with views into the valleys of Perryfoot and Peak First and Rushup Edge, Mam Tor and Eldon Hill in the distance. There are two possibly explanations; a recent animal feeder or the bank could have been constructed as a preliminary stage before the construction of a barrow. (2).
