Monument record MDR12140 - Possible enclosure ditch and pits, Waingroves Hall, Ripley

Type and Period (3)

Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Full Description

Geophysical survey carried out in 1999 in a field to the north-east of Waingroves Hall revealed evidence of a large enclosure ditch with a number of associated pits. These may well represent prehistoric activity on the site, although it is also possible that the enclosure relates to features associated with the landscaping of the area into parkland in the 18th century.
