Milepost, north of Carnfield Hall, South Normanton, an early 19th century structure. 'Cast iron milepost, triangular section with a sloping head and raised lettering. The west side is inscribed 'MANSFIELD / 8 / MILES', the east side is inscribed 'ALFRETON / 1 / MILE' and the sloping top is inscribed 'SOUTH / NORMANTON'. The manufacturer is Midworth of Mansfield.' Triangular sectioned base with sloping head, bead fillet to edge and raised lettering.
