Full Description

St James' Church is situated here on the 2nd edition 25" OS map. It is not present on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880. (1-2) St James' Mission Church, situated on Sawley Road [now Tamworth Road], is a neat edifice of brick that was erected in 1886. It will accommodate about 300, and all the seats are free. (3) To cope with the expansion of population in Long Eaton, St James' mission church was built on Sawley Road in 1886. A hall was added in 1908. (4) The building is no longer in use as a place of worship [2011]. (5-6)
