From the National Heritage List for England:
'SK 34 SW PARISH OF DUFFIELD MAKENEY ROAD 3/15 (South Side) Gate piers at north west entrance to churchyard GV II Pair of gatepiers at north west entrance to St Alkmund's churchyard.Late C18. Gritstone ashlar. Square in plan with moulded bases and cups, and massive ball finials.
