Peathill farmhouse and barn, Dolly Lane, Chinley, a late 18th century building. 'Peathill, Chinley, Buxworth and Brownside. Extant 18th century farmstead. The farmstead is of a L-plan with attached house with one side of the yard formed of agricultural buildings and additional detached elements to the main plan. The farmhouse is attached to the agricultural range. The site is in an isolated location. with one or more of the structural elements dating to the 18th centuryAll the traditional buildings remain extant.' (1-4) From the National Heritage List for England: 'This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 06/02/2018 SK 08 SW 3/95 PARISH OF CHINLEY, BUXWORTH AND BROWNSIDE Buxworth Dolly Lane Peathills Farmhouse and barn (Formerly listed as Peathill Farmhouse and barn, WATERSIDE (north side)) II Farmhouse and barn under continuous roof. Late C18. Coursed gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings. Slate roof. Stone gable end and ridge stacks. Two storeys, double fronted, two bay. Three-light flush mullion windows with plain sashes either side of doorcase with large flush jambs, imposts and lintel. Plank door. Above two similar windows. To west barn with hayloft opening at first floor. Listing NGR: SK0139283284.' (5)
