Full Description

Outbuilding at Hazlehurst Farm, Hazlehurst Lane, Eckington, possibly an early 19th century construction. The building appears to be shown on Sanderson's map of 1835 (1), but please note that earlier maps are not currently available for this area, and there is evidence to show the house's associated barn originally dates to the 16th century. (2) It is shown clearly on the OS map of 1877 where it is labelled as part of 'Hazlehurst Farm,' and it continues to shown in broadly the same configuration on all subsequent available historic mapping. At the time a historic building survey was carried out in 2014, the building had been converted into private cottages, but was reported to have previously been a barn and dairy. (2)
