Covered carriageway at Micklemeadow Farm, Rykneld Road, Burnaston, an early to mid 19th century building.
The house was part of a historic building assessment carried out in 2019: 'Early to mid 19th century covered carriageway. The supporting wall to the southwest comprises the remains of the earlier agricultural range replaced by Building 04, and is composed of handmade red brick (9½”x2¾x4½”). The structure bridges the gap between Buildings 02 and 04 to allow pitching of hay from a wagon into the hayloft in Building 02 while protected from the weather.' (1)
