Full Description

Former gun powder store, Bee Low Quarry, Dove Holes Quarry, Peak Forest, possibly of 18th or 19th century date. Please note that the structure does not appear on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c1880, nor the 2nd or 3rd editions. What used to be a gunpowder store for quarrying activities at Bee Low Quarry is still extant [2019] near the southwest edge of the facility. A small photograph taken from a distance was included in a report on a 2015 watching brief. (1)
