Former stables to Tapton Grove, Grove Road, Brimington, built in 1799. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BALMOAK LANE 1. 5169 Tapton Stables at Tapton Grave (to east of house) SK 47 SW 16/282 II GV 2. Inscribed 'A.T. 1799'. Coursed stone. Stone slate roof. Block has hipped outer wings, recessed centre with modern tiles. 2 storeys. West wing has 1 pitching eye, small window and door. Centre his 2 windows (modern glazing) 4 doors and additional window. Eastern wing has 2 windows on each floor. Original lights have stone architraves, generally modern casements in old window spaces. Listing NGR: SK4020172413.' (1)
