Gates, piers and railings at entrance to Queens Park, Boythorpe Avenue, Chesterfield, a late 19th century structure. From the National Heritage List for England: '1. 5169 SK 37 SE 13/253 BOYTHORPE AVENUE (North Side) Gates, piers and railings at entrance to Queen's Park II GV 2. Late C19. 3 tall cast iron piers to carriageway and pedestrian entrances. Panelled with plinths cornices, square moulded caps and ball finials. Gates with wrought iron scrolls and centre medallions with arms of Chesterfield. Quadrant railings with spear head finials. Queen's Park was laid out in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Listing NGR: SK3781670672.' (1)
