Full Description

Farriers Court, former stable block for Meynell House, Ashbourne Road, Kirk Langley, an early 19th century complex. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 23 NE PARISH OF KIRK LANGLEY ASHBOURNE ROAD 5/65 (North Side) Stable block to west 13.2.67 of Meynell Arms Hotel GV II Stable block, now disused. Early C19. Red brick with plain tile roof. Two storeys. L-plan. First floor stone sill band. Sawtooth eaves cornice. Three bay south elevation. Central elliptical carriage arch with single stepped surround. Pair of diagonal plank doors. To the right a glazing bar sash and to the left a pointed arched window with stone surround and Gothick glazing. Three similar windows above. Clock dial at eaves. Rear wing has a five bay east elevation, with similar Gothick windows and blocked pointed-arched doors. One C20 window. Listing NGR: SK2874438991.' (1)
