Four statues of Hermes, Thornbridge Hall Gardens, Great Longstone, of late 19th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'SK 17 SE PARISH OF GREAT LONGSTONE LONGSTONE LANE 3/9 (East Side) Four Hermes in Gardens at Thornbridge Hall GV II Four Hermes. Late C19. Stone. Four allegorical figures on square pedestals and stepped base. The pedestals have reliefs depicting the four seasons which the statues represent. The statues are inscribed in Greek, spring, summer, autumn and winter. Listing NGR: SK1992170984.' (1)
