Full Description

Ridge and furrow, Off Worksop Road, Staveley, of probable medieval date. During a geophysical survey carried out in 2018, a series of anomalies were identified as the remains of ridge and furrow. Some of these features were later recorded by excavation in 2022. The linear anomalies covered a relatively extensive area, but the area was also impacted by post medieval mining activities. (1-2) It is not currently known [2024] if this ridge and furrow was ever visible as earthworks from aerial photography.
