Barn and dovecote east of Cartledge Hall, Cartledge Lane, Holmesfield, an 18th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF HOLMESFIELD CARTLEDGE LANE SK 37 NW 5/138 (East Side) Barn incorporating Dovecote east of Cartledge Hall GV II Barn. C18. Coursed rubble coal measures sandstone with sandstone dressings, quoins and a stone slate roof. South gable has a cart opening with a substantial timber lintel. To the left is a tiny round-arched window with a chamfered stone surround, three similar windows, stepped one above the other, in the gable end. Six tier pigeon cote in the gable with perches. The east elevation has a cart entrance to the right under a wooden lintel. Small triangular headed window to the left, and another above. Upper row of triangular breathers. The north gable end has a blocked doorway, a square taking-in hole, and a stepped arrangement of round arched windows as to the south. West elevation has a doorway with plank door. To the left a small square opening with diamond paned casement. To the right, a 3-light C20 casement. Listed for group value. Listing NGR: SK3236577316.' (1)
