Gate piers, gate and plinth wall at Bank House, Bath Street, Bakewell, of mid-19th century date. From the National Heritage List for England: 'BAKEWELL SK2168 BATH STREET 831-1/4/22 (North side) Gateway, gate piers and plinth wall across front of Trustee Savings Bank GV II Gateway with attached gate piers and plinth wall. Mid C19. Ashlar sandstone piers and plinth wall; iron gates. Gate piers adjacent to No.1, Bank House (qv) and to right of Trustees Savings Bank frontage (qv) are of square section with cornices and shallow pyramidal caps. Side gateway to No.1, Bank House: double gates on iron standards with urn finials; the gates with dog bars having fleur-de-lys finials and top rails crested by Neo-classical-style finials of 2 designs. Plinth wall across bank frontage (railings removed). Forms part of the setting No.1 Bank House (qv) and the Trustees Saving Bank (qv). Listing NGR: SK2176768605.' (1)
