The Cedars, No. 41 Main Street, Newton Solney, an early 19th century building.
From the National Heritage List for England:
'PARISH OF NEWTON SOLNEY MAIN STREET SK 22 NE 1/56 (South Side) 19-1-67 The Cedars (No 41) GV II House. Early C19. Rendered brick, lined to look like ashlar. Hipped Welsh slate roof with deeply overhanging eaves. Lateral stacks. Pilaster strips at the angles, plain plinth and a fluted and plain band beneath the eaves. Two storeys. North elevation of three bays. Two steps up to a Tuscan Doric porch. Half glazed door with rectangular overlight. Flanked on each side by tripartite sashes with moulded returned hoodmoulds with small pendant stops. Two similar but smaller windows above, either side of a single sash, all with similar hoodmoulds. A further bay set back to the left has a similar tripartite sash to each floor. C20 extension to south west not of special interest. The interior has a segmental arched alcove in one room. When built the house was called The Villa, a name characteristic of the Regency period.
