Full Description

Roman Road through Longdendale, Glossop, Charlesworth, and Tintwistle, in part clearly visible with LiDAR data, in part conjectural or assumed. A study of LiDAR data by D Ratledge in 2021 established the route of a Roman road from Melandra through the Longdendale Valley. Some of the route is clearly visible on the survey data, although some sections are not quite as visible, or are conjectural as the route cannot be seen through modern buildings. (1)
