Nos. 6-9 Barley Mews, Dronfield, a mid-17th century building. From the National Heritage List for England: 'PARISH OF DRONFIELD CARR LANE SK 37 NW 5/18 9.1.89 Range of outbuildings to the south-west of Dronfield Woodhouse Hall GV II Farm outbuildings. Mid C17, with C18 additions and C20 alterations. Coursed squared coal measures sandstone with ashlar dressings, quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers. Welsh and stone slates. Irregular 'U' shaped range, two storeys, eight bays, with advanced gabled ranges to both ends, that to the south-east contemporary, that to the north west an addition. North-east elevation. Six bay central range with two former full height openings with quoined surrounds, one now fully blocked and with three C20 windows within the blocking, the other half blocked, the upper half being covered by a sliding door, and with two windows below. Inserted doorway to south-east side with sliding gear, with four ventilation slits above. Four slits to the other side, two of which are blocked. To the right of the south-eastern double doorway, a single doorway with quoined surround and massive lintel beneath a relieving arch, and with a plank stable door. Advanced range to south-east end with blocked doorway to the inner face and quoined surround and lintel to first floor taking-in doorway. North-west range with two blocked doorways, a stone staircase and inserted double doorway to ground floor. Staircase to gable end. Interior. Four bays to south-east with double purlin roof carried on three collar and tie beam trusses with windbraces. At the junction with the advanced range a post carries the tie beam to the crosswing, the tie beam being braced from the post in three directions. At the end of the fourth bay, there is a full height wall with taking-in doorway to the first floor and the remaining four bays are of single purlin construction with queen struts and windbraces to the principals.
