Full Description
SK 2212 2979: Cropmark visible on RAF air photographs, possibly representing a barrow. Nothing visible on the ground. (1, 2)
Nothing visible on O.S. air photographs. (3)
Visual inspection of the proposed route for a pipeline found the area under long grass. No earthworks were visible. (5)
Evaluation of site proposed for expansion of Nestle factory. Shallow/truncated features - ditches, gullies, pits, post/stakeholes and a circular feature with concentric ditches were identified at the northern end of the site. A small assemblage of pottery was dated between the Early Bronze Age and the Roman period.
Reviewed (2026), most of area developed, no cropmarks visible (6).
