Full Description

"Bole Hill, S.W. of Wingerworth" is included in a "list of ancient bole or lead hearths". (1) Bole Hill, Wingerworth occurs as Role Hill in 1599 and Bole Hill in 1693. (2) No material evidence of lead smelting was seen in the indicated area. (3)
