Full Description

"The Bolehill" occurs in an unpublished document of 1587 in the Portland Collection, Notts County Record Office [Indicates early smelting site, lead or iron.] (1) Two patches of burnt earth were noted in 1965, possibly indicative of early smelting. However, no scoria was evident. (2) The location of the two patches of burnt earth does not appear to be recorded.
