Full Description

'Potteries' appear here on the 1st edition 25" OS map of c. 1880. They are labelled as 'Pottery (Sanitary Ware)' on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900, the 3rd edition 25" OS map of the early 20th century, and the 4th edition 25" OS map of 1937-8. (1-4) The building is depicted on an OS map of 1970, but it is not named. (5) Nothing remains of the pottery works [1995]. (6) Midway Pottery, later known as Lower Midway Sanitary Ware Pottery Company. Pottery extant c. 1891. (6, 7)
