'Earthenware Works', with a 'Tramway' connecting the works with a 'Clay Mine' at SK 3239 1898 appear on the 2nd edition 25" OS map of c. 1900. (2)

The area is depicted as open ground on the 1:10 000 OS map of 1977. (5)
Stonework tramway of post-medieval date seen as interrupted forked linear feature defined by one stone foundation, with a maximum length of 130m. Mapped using good quality aerial photographs. Centred at: SK 3229 1899. All that is visible of the mine described by authorities 2-4 is an earthwork spoil heap of post-medieval date seen as one large (15-50m) amorphous positive feature. The area is now waste ground . Area still concreted/tarmaced over, but no foundations seen. Land to the east has been returned to cultivation including site of the clay mine. There is no sign of the connecting tramway. (7)
